Tandem is now recruiting a PROGRAM DIRECTOR, a MARKETING COORDINATOR, and FACILITATORS for Spring 2018. All positions are paid – contact us for more details.

Tandem’s Program Director is the core person in charge of driving the program forward! We need someone super motivated and driven to grow the program and keep the momentum going. Tasks will include:
• Managing the Tandem team
• Overseeing long-term strategy, including furthering partnerships all over campus and implementation of new initiatives
• Overseeing all administration (e.g. email management, matching process, logistics)
• Envisioning new events and activities for the Tandem community

• 5 – 10 hrs per week (can be adjusted depending on availability and level of interest in increasing hours)
• Work authorization to work on campus
We are looking for someone that will stay at Yale for at least  two more years (e.g. freshman, sophomore, or junior year)
• Excellent strategy and managerial skills to drive the program forward
• Ability to effectively interface with various instutuions on campus for Tandem external relations


The Marketing Coordinator will:
• Maintain the website and the socia media channels
• Work authorization to work on campus
Produce posters/visual media for Tandem events
• Coordinate the development/purchase of Tandem swag
• Document Tandem session and events through video and photos
• At the beginning of the year, the work revolves around advertising the program extensively throughout the University

• 2 – 5 hrs per week (can be adjusted depending on availability)
Proactive, creative, and a go-getter
A whiz at written and oral communications
Social media savvy
Experienced in marketing for campus initiatives
Video and photo experience are considered a plus!


Each facilitator oversees one Tandem session each week, helping with implementation of the curriculum and fostering the community of Tandem learners:
• Facilitate the beginning of weekly sessions
• Keep attendance lists and contact absent participants
• Ensure partner-to-partner interactions are running smoothly and that conflicts are resolved in a timely manner
• Collect feedback from participants
• Be flexible and available to support independent partners upon request
• Coordinate Tandem community events

• 2 hrs a week
• Work authorization to work on campus
• Friendly and outgoing personality
• Experience or interest in planning events for the Tandem community (e.g. movie nights, End of Year Showcase)
• Experience working with diverse backgrounds and an interest in different languages/cultures
• Interest in teaching and in second-language acquisition an asset
